About Tango ViTA
Tango ViTA is a non profit organization devoted to creating a safe and respectful environment in which Argentine Tango can flourish. As well as encouraging the local teaching community, Tango ViTA sponsors weekend workshops in Victoria with instructors from all over the world, and arranges for regular and special dance events in the city. Tango ViTA was founded in 1996 by Rene and Hilda, Pamela St. Denis, David Gurr and Jorge Sueldo when a group of dedicated people started to meet on a regular basis to dance. This core group has expanded into a vibrant community which maintains close ties to tango organizations in the Gulf Islands, Duncan, Vancouver, Seattle and Port Townsend, WA, and maintains links with tangueros all over the world. The success of the club is due to the contributions of all of its members who give of their time and talents. Since the beginning, Tango ViTA has hosted workshops with fine instructors such as Miguel Angel Pla and Eduardo Saucedo from Buenos Aires, Tony Fan and Ilana Rubin from Seattle, Metin Yazir from Istanbul, and Semiral Tuncer and Susana Dominguez, both of Vancouver.
